Phoenix Contact presents the FL
MC 2000E SM40 LC Ethernet media converters featuring a robust design for use in
extreme environmental requirements according to IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613.
Completing the class of optical
converters for use in energy technology, the media converter featuring single-mode
fibreglass covers distances of up to 40km. Data transmission via fibre optics
optimises Ethernet applications in terms of their performance and transmission
reliability.
The devices for both multi-mode
and single-mode fibreglass versions meet extreme environmental requirements with
their robust metal housing.
Key features of the new Ethernet
media converters include high electromagnetic compatibility enabling use in
switchgear requiring IEC 61850-3 or IEEE 1613; extended temperature range of
-40°C to +75°C supporting use in a variety of applications; flexible redundant
power supply to cover a wide range from 12 to 57 V DC; multiple diagnostics
LEDs; and LFP (Link Fault Pass Through) function to ensure permanent and
consistent connection monitoring.
Additionally, the Ethernet pass
through mode supports very short delay times of just 700 ns, also making the media
converters ideal for use in time-critical applications such as Profinet,
Powerlink, EtherCat or Sercos III.
