Engineering with LEGO can transform the future

It took eight months to build using only spare time, but a fully programmable, near life-size ABB robot made out of LEGO bricks is a spectacular thing to behold.

Yes, in this age of limited attention spans and virality-driven media perhaps it's cool enough that a near life-size industrial robot has been recreated in LEGO bricks, but there's so much more behind this story that it would be sad if it stopped there.

In particular, it's clear that there is a mismatch between the skills that currently exist in the workforce and the skills we need for the robotics and tech heavy world of the future.

What better way to get kids and young adults interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) than through programmable LEGO.
