Engineering employers vote, EEASA joins Ai Group

BY SARAH FALSON

The Engineering Employers Association South Australia (EEASA) will merge with the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group), allowing EEASA access to Ai Group’s Australia-wide industry resources. The merger comes off the back of an almost unanimous vote from EEASA members – 95 per cent of which thought it would be a positive move for the group.

Director, Stephen Myatt, said the combination would allow EEASA members wider access to industry in South Australia and the rest of the country.

“EEASA and Ai Group are now in discussion with the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) to determine a start date for the new arrangements and the establishment of an Ai Group SA Branch,” Myatt said. Ai Group has offices and affiliates across metropolitan and regional Australia. Its members are employed in manufacturing, engineering, construction, defence, ICT, call centres, labour hire, transport, logistics and more.

Ai Group chief executive, Heather Ridout, said the merger would positively impact both organisations.
