Endress+Hauser’s Plant Asset Management tool, FieldCare, is the first FDT frame to pass the FDT Group’s conformance test, the company claims.
The objective of FDT certification is to ensure interoperability of DTMs and frames, by testing the conformance of these components against the FDT specification.
The systematic tests performed during the certification procedure drastically reduce interoperability issues, thus avoiding potential integration costs and project delays for the user, says Enress+Hauser.
The FieldCare FDT frame can now configure HART, PROFIBUS and FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices using native DTMS.
Additionally Endress+Hauser’s iDTM technology enables communication and configuration for all HART and FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices for which DTMS do not yet exist.
FieldCare is available as a modular configuration tool upgradeable up to a Plant Asset Management solution. In 2009, FieldCare was delivered with more than 100,000 Endress+Hauser devices, the company says.
