Endress+Hauser’s chief operating officer, Michael Ziesemer, will visit the Australian head office in Sydney on 12 February 2010 to discuss how current automation trends will affect the Australian market in the future.
With 37 years of experience, Ziesemer is a well-renowned and respected figure in the process instrumentation industry in Europe, the company claims.
Ziesemer plans to address trends in fieldbusses and the integration between field and control system as well as the role of web technologies in process control. Vendor Managed Inventory, Ethernet and Wireless HART are also on the agenda.
“We’re delighted to have Mr Ziesemer visit,” said Endress+Hauser’s Australia managing director, John Immelman.
“It’s very timely given the recent growth forecasts for Australia’s economy. But the industry is by no means out of the woods and the threat of increasing capacity constraints is looming. The manufacturing sector is currently contracting and it’s going to require significant effort to improve productivity and growth in the workforce.
“Process automation and instrumentation will play key roles in the future of the Australian economy and our aim as a company is to help our customers improve efficiencies so they can increase productivity and become more competitive in the global marketplace.”
Ziesemer has been with Endress+Hauser for almost 30 years. After working as a telecommunications engineer and research and development engineer for flow and level measurement systems, he joined Endress+Hauser as head of Product Management in Maulburg, Germany in 1981.
In 1992, Ziesemer became managing director of Endress+Hauser GmbH+Co. KG, Maulburg then, four years later of Endress+Hauser Messtechnik GmbH+Co. KG.
In 1999 he joined Endress+Hauser Consult AG, Reinach, Switzerland as corporate director sales and marketing. He has been a member of the executive board of the Endress+Hauser Group since 2002 and in 2008 he became chief operating officer (COO).
Ziesemer takes an active part in a number of professional organisations including ZVEI, VDI, HART and ISA.
