Emissions Trading Scheme decision due this week

This week the Senate will decide whether or not it will pass an Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), which if passed would open up opportunities for power and energy management areas of the process control industry.

The ETS is designed to cut the carbon output of Australian businesses and industrial areas, by forcing companies to pay the Government for every tonne of carbon outputted into the earth’s atmosphere over a certain limit.

Local power and energy management solutions providers could be the big winners if the ETS is passed, as there will be a much stronger demand for these sorts of products to help companies remain under their preferred carbon emissions levels.
