element14 has introduced a new range of environmentally sealed metal and plastic connectors designed for use in harsh environment applications.
The new Buccaneer 7000 Series from Bulgin, a world leader in power, protection and environmentally sealed products, has now been added to element14’s expanding portfolio of over 210,000 connectors. Available in plastic and metal options, the new dust-proof and waterproof connectors are suitable for mains power applications in harsh environments such as industrial machinery and building automation.
Buccaneer’s metal connectors feature a robust construction and offer protection against EMI and thermoplastic; while the plastic connectors are made from lightweight, self-extinguishing material suitable for long-term outdoor use.
According to German Casillas, Group Sales Director, Elektron Technology, the availability of the compact and rugged connectors at element14 enables their customers to easily review and select from a broad range of Bulgin products. The new additions to the Bulgin range of connectors will also help the company better serve their customers’ need for greater flexibility in system design for demanding applications; customers will additionally benefit from the technical support and customer service provided by element14.
Key features of the Buccaneer 7000 Series metal and plastic connectors include mains power and signal interfaces; IP66, IP68 and IP69K ratings for harsh environments where dust or water can have a critical effect on the integrity of the electrical connection; quick-turn locking mechanism offering robust, rapid connections for harsh environments; better performance than standard Buccaneer, smaller than the 900 Series; and less than quarter-turn locking mechanism superior to conventional screw locking mechanisms.
