Electronics manufacturer Redarc named business of the year

Electronics manufacturer Redarc was named the Telstra South Australian Business of The Year award last night.

The Lonsdale-based company’s financial success, resilience and potential to grow were all praised by judges, reports News Corp.

The company makes automotive aftermarket power solutions.

Redarc has averaged 25 per cent growth, year-on-year, for the past and has a revenue of over $20 million. It employs nearly 100.

“We are sick of hearing that Australian manufacturing is dead,” said owner Anthony Kittel.

“An unrelenting focus on innovation, differentiation and development of great staff can enable manufacturing to succeed whilst based in Australia.”

The company’s success has been credited to its heavy investments in R&D (and links with researchers in South Australia and the University of Wollongong) and in its staff and facilities.

Kittel has said the company spends 15 per cent of its revenues on R&D.

"REDARC is an outstanding family-owned technology business that has dynamic leadership and a strong culture of core values and ethics,” said Will Irving, Telstra Business Group Managing Director and Ambassador for the Telstra Australian Business Awards.
