Five hundred environment industry professionals will discuss the latest technology and approaches to solving environmental problems and particularly those related to contaminated site remediation, at Conrad Jupiters, Gold Coast from 27—29 February.
The “industry spotlight” segment you will hear about Norm the sniffer dog who followed an odour trail around three contaminated sites to locate hotspots of contamination in a way that his handler could interpret and that closely matched the known contaminant distribution, leaving the way open for dogs to be used more often in such cases.
Another ‘spotlight’ segment will feature a case where a Melbourne owner/developer went to court over contamination that he perceived was the responsibility of other parties. The case serves as a warning to many stakeholders in brownfield site redevelopment, including prospective site buyers, owner/developers, planning authorities, consultants and owners of sites where the contamination may affect other properties.
EcoForum is a nine-stream conference arranged around four themes of environmental management, a trade exhibition showcasing innovative environmental products and services, an art exhibition on contaminated land rehabilitation and plenty of networking opportunities.
The nine conference streams are:
