Driving Efficiency in 2017

While electricity deregulation was supposed to increase market competition and provide economic benefits to the mining and process industries, thanks to the increase in coal and gas prices along with the belief by some companies that large voltage motors are needed to power the uptake in automation such as robotics and materials handling technologies, electricity usage by industry has increased markedly.

This increase in demand has led to higher prices, which in turn is reflected in higher operating and energy costs for industry.

The use of low and medium voltage devices ensures all electrical equipment operates at optimum performance without exceeding capacity, while at the same time, ensuring power quantity and quality is maintained and operational energy costs are kept to the minimum.
