Reliability and longevity are key to effective and economic actuator performance. LINAK’s LA36 Long Life is designed with these parameters in mind.
In the world of autonomous agriculture, industrial automation and AGV/AMR, applications all have one thing in common; failure is not an option. For applications that need to be reliable and long-lasting, manufacturers need actuator solutions that can go the distance. The LA36 Long Life, designed for peak endurance, has the staying power that can outperform many of its competitors.
Flexible and smart
It is not just endurance that the LA36 delivers – it is flexible and innovative too. With a choice of 24 V or 48 V, an integrated controller and CANopen and J1939 interfaces, we put more installation options on the table. And for today’s increasingly data-hungry applications, the actuator provides information for planning maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting that dramatically cuts service costs.
More cycles, less cost
It is hard to find an electric linear movement solution that meets extended lifetime requirements while remaining affordable. Regular choices include servo drives and standard actuators, both of which add to the bottom line, either from high initial outlay or costly end-of-life replacement. With the LA36 Long Life, LINAK makes it possible to drive costs down while adding to an application’s lifetime.
LINAK development manager Soren Buck said the Long Life actuator is capable of operating in the “worst possible conditions”.
“The Long Life actuator has been tested to perform a minimum of 200,000 cycles at maximum load and maximum duty cycle,” he said.
“This roughly extends its working life to around 20 times that of conventional actuators on the market.
“This considerable increase is primarily due to the incorporation of a brushless motor, which takes us to new heights in long-term reliability and performance.”
In the majority of application cases, this is more than enough to deliver long-life confidence with less service and downtime.
Plug and play saves valuable time
For a growing number of 48 V applications, conventional actuator solutions are not easy to integrate and install. With regular 24 V actuators, a converter module was required to transform the voltage from 48 V to 24 V. The LA36 Long Life needs no converter as it comes 48 V-ready, requiring less installation time. The same applies to communication interfaces; with built-in CANopen and J1939 interfaces, it is easy to match actuator with application – without any need for a converter.
“Cutting down the costly time it takes our customers to integrate a solution has also played a part in the design of our Long Life actuator. This plug-and-play solution with fewer components also means less costly service and downtime for application users,” Buck said.
Integrated control for data and troubleshooting
With a standard actuator solution, it is not possible to get advanced data such as cycle count, error messages, amp usage and speed, making it hard to troubleshoot. With its Integrated Controller and CAN bus, the LA36 Long Life offers access to all relevant data – making troubleshooting easy.
Precision control – without external sensors
Getting precision control in a customer’s application using a conventional actuator involves the time and cost of installing and integrating external position sensors into the system. Because the LA36 has an integrated controller and CAN bus, it is possible to design a system with precision control to reach a requested position – with no external sensors needed.
Staying power that delivers
The Long Life actuator delivers long-lasting, trouble-free performance that increases uptime even in harsh operating conditions. Fewer components make it simple to install while reducing service. A choice of interfaces and motor supply voltages offer application flexibility, and an integrated controller provides data for quick troubleshooting.
