Australian compressed-air specialist, Champion Compressors, has appointed a new business development manager to assist the company to explore a new avenue in process compression in the gas and oil industry.
Peter Laws will take the helm at the newly-created role, bringing 37 years of compressor industry experience.
Champion Compressors is currently exploring opportunities within the global oil and gas industry, meaning Laws’ résumé of compressor expertise in the mining and oil and gas sectors will be well put to use.
A spokesperson for Champion Compressors says that Laws’ appointment provides the company with a valuable advantage, reinforcing its “industry-leading position”
Champion Compressors is a leading Australian designer and supplier of fully-engineered compressed-air systems. According to Laws, broadening the company’s compressor expertise into gas and process compression was the next logical step.
“In my new role, I will be focussed on building on Champion’s impressive reputation in the oil and gas sector,” he said.
“Champion already has numerous compressed-air packages located on many of Australia’s largest oil platforms and gas fields. We are experts in providing compressors that deliver the superior reliability and performance required for continuous operation in the hot, humid and dusty conditions experienced throughout Australia.”
The Champion Compressors team is looking forward to applying its compressor expertise to gas and process compression applications.
“We believe our knowledge of the natural resource sector, both in Australia and abroad, coupled with our existing strong relationships with key oil and gas stakeholders, will see Champion Compressors provide technical leadership,” said Laws.
