Compact infrared temperature sensors for non contact measurement

ifm efector introduces a new range of infrared temperature sensors for non-contact temperature measurement in process applications.

ifm's new industrially compatible infrared temperature sensors have been developed for hot objects up to 2,500°C. The TW type sensors show the temperature value on a display and send the reading as analogue or switching signal to the controller.

Maximum accuracy can be achieved by selecting sensors with different spectral ranges for different temperature ranges, enabling users to get a sensor optimised to their application. The emissivity of the target object can be set using pushbuttons and the display to ensure precise measurement.

Key features of ifm’s non contact infrared temperature sensors include scratch-resistant precision lenses minimising the impact of divergent light; can be used in extremely high ambient temperatures up to 250°C; and variants with switching and analogue outputs (4…20 mA), and sensors with two freely programmable switching outputs also available.
