Rockcote Dry Mix Plant

Brolton Group constructed an $8.5 million manufacturing facility for Rockcote. The plant was designed to produce a range of highly consistent building products, at an initial rate of 24 tonnes/hr (scalable by up to 100 per cent). The facility has also been designed to set new environmental benchmarks for the industry: incorporating waste reduction, efficient design and reduced energy consumption. It was designed in a partnership that included Brolton aligning with its client Rockcote’s values and vision for sustainable manufacturing.
Construction was completed on-time and with push-button startup that allowed Rockcote to achieve desired production rates from week one. The completed facility is also delivering energy savings of as much as 25 per cent (over similarly sized manufacturing facilities) and is completely self-sufficient in its water usage. Key aspects of the now-functioning facility include a small footprint, and sand bay bins which incorporate a passive drying system.
