England’s University of Birmingham has gotten into the Christmas spirit by creating an aluminium reindeer decoration with additive manufacturing.
The university’s Advanced Materials and Processing Lab printed the complicated shape’s mesh-like structure – seen here above a Christmas tree bauble – using selective laser melting.
“The joy of Christmas brought to you by 3D printing, where in the future Santa could be printing your Christmas presents!” the university’s Dr Moataz Attalah said, in comments reported by the Birmingham Post.
