National Manufacturing Week 2009 — Australia’s largest annual manufacturing exhibition — returns to Melbourne in May, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from Tuesday May 12 to Friday May 15.
According to organiser Reed Exhibitions, NMW is now a true “one-stop” show for anyone in the manufacturing sector, allowing them to see and evaluate the latest products, services and emerging technologies in a face-to-face environment.
NMW 2009 will incorporate pavilions catering for the automation, electronic, electrical, process engineering, machine tools, welding, safety and logistics/materials handling sectors.
“For exhibitors and visitors, NMW is now the only event that brings together market leaders from a wide selection of national and international manufacturing communities,” said Reed Exhibitions exhibition manager for the event, Paul Baker.
“For the first time, participants in the Victorian manufacturing sector will see our expanded ‘shows-within-a-show’ concept, now including the electronics and electrical sectors.”
Pavilions within NMW 2009 will include the new Electrix and Austronics pavilions — the first time they’ve been included in the Melbourne edition of NMW — supplemented by an enhanced Automation & Robotics pavilion.
Electrix, a showcase for the electrical industry, will feature a range of high-tech products, services and technologies for the electrical sector.
NMW’s new Austronics pavilion is an electronics industry exhibition, and is endorsed and supported by peak industry associations including the Surface Mount and Circuit Board Association (SMCBA).
It will showcase the latest electronics solutions for the manufacturing sector. In addition, the SMCBA will hold a three-day conference alongside Austronics.
Complementing Electrix and Austronics, will be the Automation & Robotics pavilion, which has been the fastest-growing sector of NMW since being launched in 2006, with major suppliers of this technology exhibiting again in 2008, says Reed Exhibitions.
Also new to NMW 2009 will be a fully-integrated Logistics, Materials Handling & Distribution (LMHD) pavilion, showcasing key aspects of logistics, materials handling and distribution, from raw materials to production, through to warehousing.
