Australian Profibus & Profinet Expo was the biggest ever

Profibus Australia ended 2014 on a high note with a one-day Forum and Technical Exhibition at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition centre on 6 November, 2013.

Registered guests at the PAA’s most important event of the year were invited to ‘Plug-in and play’ at the Interactive Technical Exhibition.

Thirteen of Australia’s leading product vendors signed up to present their latest products and interactive displays at the Exhibition adjoining the Forum, the highest number ever recorded by the PAA over the last 10 years.

Next door at the Forum, an impressive line-up of speakers, including prominent PAA Members Siemens, Burkert Fluid Control, Schneider Electric plus visiting UK Profibus trainer Andy Verwer, gathered for a full day of presentations.

Among the featured topics listed on the speaker’s programme were technical overviews on Profibus, Profinet and FDT DTM; a case-study on the Sydney Desalination plant; plus a presentation titled ‘Reducing the cost of plant ownership’ outlining how plant operating costs can be lowered and productivity levels raised through the implementation of fieldbus technology.

In a bold, promotional move aimed at creating a better understanding of Industry Automation, Profibus Australia invited nine technical experts from the industry’s leading protocols to participate in a ‘Fieldbus Forum’ chaired by independent moderators from the Engineering Faculty at the University of Southern Queensland.

Experts representing Profinet, Profibus, Wireless Hart, Ethernet IP, EtherCAT, Foundation Fieldbus, FDT DTM, AS-i and Modbus TCP gave 15 minute overviews followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
