Australian Made, the not-for-profit campaign to publicise products’ Australian origin, has been launched in South Australia.
Adelaide Now reports that Business SA joined with Australian Made for the campaign and the launch coincided with Business SA’s 175th gala celebration.
At the launch Glenn Cooper, managing director of Coopers Brewery and Australian Made Campaign chairman, accepted a Hall of Fame award on behalf of the iconic South Australian brewer.
“SA is a hub for manufacturing and growing in Australia, and this initiative will help to promote and support local industry,” Mr Cooper said.
He said that Australian products are well- regarded overseas, but often people don’t know when products are Australian made.
There are four logos associated with the campaign which signify different things:
- Australian Made: The product has been made in Australia and over 50 per cent of the cost of production cost has been incurred in Australia.
- Australian Grown: All significant ingredients are grown in Australia and almost all processing carried out in Australia.
- Product of Australia: All of the product’s significant ingredients come from Australia and almost all of the manufacturing/processing has been carried out in Australia.
- Australian Seafood: All significant ingredients are grown/harvested in Australia and almost all processing carried out in Australia.
