ABB has announced the global launch of its next generation asset performance management (APM) solution, Asset Health Center 3.0. This latest software-based solution enables asset-intensive industries to improve efficiencies and optimise costs by combining ABB’s APM offering with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

The solution uses predictive analytics, as well as customised models incorporating decades of industry expertise, to identify and prioritise emerging maintenance needs based on probability of failure and asset criticality.

It is a key component of the company’s lifecycle management approach to deliver a holistic solution for managing the complete asset lifecycle, as well as a key component of the company’s digital substation concept where it collects condition data to optimise performance and improve the substation’s efficiency and cost effectiveness, which the company claims reduces transformer and breaker downtime by up to 50 per cent.

Now available in the form of a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, it enables simpler and faster implementation in the Azure cloud platform, improved visualisation and analytics, as well as easier integration of predictive models using Cortana Intelligence.
