AS 4024.1-2006 Safety of Machinery workshop Sydney

Machine Safe and the AS 4024 committee are holding an Australian Standard AS 4024.1-2006 “Safety of Machinery” Workshop in Western Sydney on 25 February 2010.

Registration is now open for the event, which will be hosted by safety experts Frank Schrever, head of Pilz Safe Automation in Melbourne, and Ern Millard, chair of the Standards Australia Committee SF 41 for over 20 years.

The specialist training event covers AS 4024.1-2006, the fundamental safety of machinery standard, in detail. This standard defines all aspects of machine safety from risk assessments to risk control system design, guarding and ergonomics.

The one-day training seminar is designed for those involved in the import, supply, design, manufacture, modification and use of machinery plant and equipment. This workshop will help attendees ensure that their machinery is compliant with law and standards.

The course outline is broken up into five sections: General Principles and Basic Methodology for Risk Assessment; Design and Validation of Safety Related Parts of Control System; Design and Consolidation of Physical Guarding; Design of Interlocking, Prevention of unintended start-up and E-stops; and Ergonomics and design requirements for displays, actuators and signals.

Register now by emailing training@machinesafe.com.au for your registration form. On-site machine training can also be organised. The location for the Western Sydney workshop will be announced shortly.
