Diversified Exhibitions’ Perth-based Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition (AOG) has won two awards for Best Trade Show Over 10,000m2 and Best Australian Show at the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) Awards for Excellence.
Held in Sydney in November 2009, the EEAA Awards for Excellence recognise outstanding achievement and innovation in the exhibition and events industries across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
AOG exhibition director, Bill Hare, accepted the award on behalf of Diversified Exhibitions at the official ceremony and gala event.
“To be recognised by a judging panel of industry experts as not only the best trade show of our size, but also the best Australian show is an enormous honour and a testament to the hard work and ingenuity of our team to deliver the largest oil and gas exhibition ever held in the Southern Hemisphere,” he said.
Diversified Exhibitions’ Hare also acknowledged the assistance of the Government of Western Australia, City of Perth, Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) and Subsea Energy Australia.
Diversified Exhibitions purchased AOG in 2007. The company announced at the 2009 AOG exhibition in February that the exhibition would now be held annually after almost 25 years as a biennial event. AOG 2009 hosted a record 300 exhibitors, with patron numbers rising 100 per cent on the previous AOG 2007.
