Alternative water technology at Ozwater Melbourne

Siemens’ latest water technology will be showcased at this year’s Ozwater Conference from 16th to 18th March at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Siemens offerings will be on-show with product displays, visual presentations and Siemens water technology specialists on-hand to share their expertise.

SkyJuice Foundation chairman, Rhett Butler — a water technologies consultant to Siemens — will present a paper about Siemens Memcor low pressure membranes for chemical free water treatment and their application in the SkyHydrant portable filtration systems now used in disaster relief world-wide.

Siemens executive manager — water technologies, Tony Handakas, described the products being showcased:

“Siemens innovative water technologies encompass a comprehensive range of solutions for water re-use and purification that meet the pressing needs of the water and wastewater industries including membrane technologies, biological treatment, clarification, biosolids management, odour control, chemical feed, disinfection and filtration,” he said.

“The offerings on show at the Ozwater Conference include our CS Submerged Membrane Systems; our most recent development in chemical free filtration of seawater for desalination — the Seacell membrane system.

“Also there will be the VR40 Vertical UV Disinfection System for small and medium-sized community drinking water systems, as well as the Forty-X disc filter for water reuse applications, and the Siemens Sensor Systems for Totally Integrated Automation water treatment solutions that ensure optimal management and sustainable use of water.”

Through its process technologies and control systems, Siemens offers a range of technologies that present opportunities for alternative water supply options.
