Advantech announces the launch of the new ProView SCADA manageable series switches for process control and IT networking management.
The world’s first convergence switches, the ProView series uses Modbus/TCP to communicate with the SCADA software and SNMP to communicate with the NMS (Networking Management System) simultaneously, allowing control engineers or IT to have full read control over the devices.
Eight models in the ProView series will be released in the first phase: EKI-5525/I and EKI-5528/I are five and eight port 100 Mbit switches and the EKI-5725/I and EKI-5728/I are five and eight port Gigabit switches.
ProView series Ethernet switches featuring the port-based QoS VIP port for deterministic data transmission allow the priority ports to prioritise the incoming traffic and delay the less immediately necessary data over the remaining ports. This is especially useful for high bandwidth applications such as video streaming where latency could cause problems.
The use of high quality components further enhances the benefits of the ProView series, enabling the Ethernet switches to have a wide operating temperature range of -40°C ~+75°C (EKI-5525/I, EKI-5528/I, EKI-5725/I, and EKI-5728/I) along with Level 3 EMS protection to repel electromagnetic interface for industrial resistance. Advantech ProView series Ethernet switches are, therefore, able to provide industrial grade reliability in the harshest of environments.
