ABB has released the IRB120T, a variant of the IRB120. While retaining its compact and lightweight features, the new six-axis variant delivers an increase in the maximum speeds of axis 4, 5 and 6, resulting in cycle time improvements of up to 25 percent.
Commenting on the new IRB 120T variant, Olivier Coquerel, Head of Robotics at ABB in Australia says, “During the successful deployment of large volumes of our standard IRB 120 robots across the world we identified a need for a faster variant of the robot to be utilised in pick and place applications, particularly in the food and beverage and packaging industries. I also foresee benefits in assembly applications for electrical and electronics and automotive parts manufacturers".
The IRB 120T can reduce cycle times by up to 25 percent and features a repeatability of 0.01 mm. It can also be mounted at any angle, either in a cell, on top of a machine or close to other robots on the manufacturing line.
The robot comes with the ABB IRC5 Compact control. This includes advanced path motion, FlexPendant programming, RobotStudio offline programming, RAPID language and communication capabilities.
