ABB CEO Ulrich Spiesshofer said on the outcome of the COP21 Climate Change Conference in Paris:
"We welcome the COP21 Paris climate treaty. It is now the responsibility of all stakeholders to achieve these ambitious targets.”
“We were in Paris last week presenting technical solutions designed to increase energy efficiency and enable renewable power. Our technologies help to mitigate climate change. Many of these solutions are already fully proven but can have a massive impact,” noted Spiesshofer.
“Robust regulation is often the key. Addressing the power consumption of electric motors in industries – which consume close to one third of the globally produced electricity today – would unlock savings equal to the annual electrical consumption capacity of all households in the European Union. “
“With our renewable power generation and energy efficient grid technologies – either through conventional or microgrid solutions,” said Spiesshofer, “we support the goal of providing all mankind with access to sustainable electricity."
